Every year, Celebrity MasterChef presents a wide selection of the country’s best-known faces – and for its 16th edition, the show has invited 20 other famous contestants to create gastronomic masterpieces.
Media personality and entrepreneur Katie Price is one of 20 celebrities who will trade their daytime jobs for a stint in the kitchen, trying to impress Gregg Wallace and John Torode with their culinary prowess.
Also in the lineup of Celebrity MasterChef 2021 are other reality stars Megan McKenna and Kem Cetinay.
Here’s your quick guide to all things Katie Price, before her beginnings in the MasterChef kitchen.
Who is Katie Price?
Although she has worn many hats throughout her time in the public eye, Katie Price was once better known to the British public as Jordan – her pseudonym when she began her glamorous modeling career in the years. 1990.
After years as a regular, she became a household name when she appeared on the third series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004. While in the Australian jungle, she met her future husband Peter Andre.
As a couple, Katie and Peter were tabloid magnets and embarked on several joint media ventures – even starring on their own ITV2 show and releasing an Aladdin’s “A Whole New World” cover single. Sadly, after two children together and four years of marriage, they divorced in September 2009.
Since then, Katie has launched a variety of her own life-documenting reality shows, as well as fiction books and autobiographies, making appearances on game shows and designing a range of equestrian clothing. She also appears on ITV’s Loose Women.
She is a mother of five and has been married twice after Peter to Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler.
In January 2021, viewers were particularly touched by his connection to his eldest son Harvey Price, as shown in their BBC documentary Katie Price: Harvey and Me. The film followed them as they prepared to find accommodation. for Harvey, 18, with Prader-Willi syndrome.
Prior to her appearance on Celebrity MasterChef, Katie admitted that she wasn’t exactly an expert on pots and pans. Captioning her promo photo on Instagram, she wrote, “They said I can burn a cup of tea… that should be interesting,” with a laughing emoji.
It remains to be seen whether she will succeed in this magnificent feat.
