Alvin Kamara: What makes a good running back

According to a report by ESPN’s Mike Triplett Sunday night, the New Orleans Saints and former Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara were arrested Sunday night in Las Vegas. Kamara was arrested for battery according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report. Triplett’s report says Kamara was “charged with injuring someone at a nightclub” on Saturday night.

Kamara’s arrest comes the night of the NFL Pro Bowl game in which Kamara made his fifth consecutive appearance.

“Police say the alleged battery took place on Saturday,” Triplett’s report for ESPN said. “Officers were dispatched at approximately 5:50 p.m. local time Saturday to a hospital, where the victim said he was beaten at a nightclub on South Las Vegas Boulevard. The suspect was later identified as Kamara following a police investigation.

After Kamara was pulled over by Las Vegas police on Sunday night without incident, the Saints running back was later booked for “a battery charge resulting in significant bodily harm.”

According to Triplett, neither the Saints nor Kamara’s representatives could be reached regarding the incident Sunday night at 11:00 p.m. ET.

Kamara, a former standout running back for the University of Tennessee, was selected in the third round by the Saints in the 2017 NFL Draft. Since joining the league, Kamara has been a pro-bowl player each year, also earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2017 and 2020.

In Sunday’s Pro Bowl game, Alvin Kamara had four catches for 23 yards. The AFC defeated the NFC by a score of 41-35 at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas.

During the 2021 regular season, Kamara rushed for 898 yards and four touchdowns. Additionally, Kamara also had 439 receiving yards and five touchdowns for the Saints.
