Armstrong told viewers this morning that he went for the extreme makeover after responding to his own mother’s requests to tidy up his look.
“She texted me [saying]”You would make me feel a lot better if you shaved my face and had your hair cut,” and I was like, “Okay …”, “he revealed.
The sight of a well-cut, fresh-shaven Tony Armstrong left some ABC viewers stunned – and they took to social media to say they barely recognized Tony’s new look:
It comes after the ABC last week announced a new Tony Project for their 2022 roster: The former AFL player will host a three-part documentary series on dogs and their relationship with humans called A dog’s world Next year.

Armstrong became the full-time sports presenter on News Breakfast in July when he replaced Paul Kennedy.
