LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – At Pioneers Park, thousands of people can watch the dancers at the American Ballet Theater for free this Thursday.
All of this is happening as The Lied Center announces its next season of various shows.
“The intermission is over and the main centers are back,” said Bill Stephan, executive director of the Lied Center for Performing Arts.
Stephan says the Lied Center is delighted to relaunch their season after the pandemic halted many shows.
“It’s so wonderful that everyone can get together at full capacity,” Stephan said. “This fall and spring, the artists who were waiting to come to Lincoln, are doing many of these programs. We have this season coming up, we just celebrated our 30th anniversary, so in many ways we are still celebrating the 30th anniversary, with shows like Boston Pops and the Carol King Beautiful musical.
Also on the list are performances like the Righteous Brothers, Mannheim Steamroller, etc.
On Thursday, many are gearing up for the 20 American Ballet Theater dancers arriving from New York City to kick off their tour of the capital.
What is unique about it? Thousands of people will enjoy the show at Pioneers Park.
“And they will do everything from classical ballet with tutus to contemporary dance and jazz,” Stephan said. “It’s perfect for someone who loves dancing, but also if you’ve never been to a dance program. It’s a perfect way to experience dancing for the very first time, created just for you.
Tickets for the American Ballet Theater show are free, and season tickets can be purchased at the Leid Center or on their website.
