Maura Derrane is the spitting image of her mother in a rare throwback photo she found.

The TV presenter is not feeling well at the moment and has decided to return home to Inismór.

While at home, she came across an old photo of her mother, who looks like her.

Taking to social media to share the beautiful black and white photo, Maura explained that her mother made her own dress.

“Not on TV today, because I’m still recovering from a terrible head cold. At home in Inismór, leafing through old photo albums.

“Found these fabulous photos of my mom, probably taken in the 1960s. So stylish. She just told me she made this dress herself. #talented #mymom #oldphotos #islandlife”

Many Maura followers loved the cute snap and shared how stylish her mom looked.

RTE presenter Nuala Carey said: “She’s like a movie star.”

One of her followers commented, “It’s fabulous. Gorgeous dress. The apple does not fall far from the tree”.

A second fan shared, “Wow what a beautiful lady and her dress is stunning you look like her Maura”.

Many people noticed how much Maura and her mother looked alike, with one person writing, “You look so much like her.”

A second follower added, “You look so alike!! Absolutely stunning. Hope you feel better soon x”.

A third person said, “Wow, you look so much like her. Magnificent picture”.

The RTE star recently returned to Instagram after hackers stripped him of access to the account for several days.

She told RSVP Live at the time: “The broadcaster told RSVP Live at the time: ‘Hackers deleted all my Instagram posts, one every second.

“Now they are threatening to delete my followers and my page. They demand ransom and completely deleted my Twitter.

“I’ve reported it to Gardai, Facebook (and cyber experts thanks to an introduction by Conor Pope) so fingers crossed.”
