Love Island bosses seek to replace host Laura Whitmore with Strictly star

Love Island bosses have reportedly been eyeing Strictly star AJ Odudu to replace current host Laura Whitmore after being impressed with her performances on the dance show.

It comes after Laura Whitmore was criticized for her presentation skills on Love Island.

AJ is currently paired with new professional dancer Kai Widdrington – who she is also reportedly dating – and wowed judges and viewers with her dances.

She previously featured dating shows while hosting Married At First Sight: Afters on Channel 4.

AJ’s appearance on Strictly put her directly in the public eye and significantly raised her profile, but sources say it’s too early to say if she’ll land the Love Island introductory job.

A source said: “Love Island bosses love AJ on Strictly.

“She’s done a few dating shows and would be perfect. Right now it’s the start, but she’s the girl of the moment and she has a lot of offers to make.

“If offered the job of Love Island, she will have to seriously weigh it because now is her time and she has a lot of opportunities to choose from.”

It was previously reported that the Love Island bosses were looking to replace Laura – who is married to Love Island narrator Iain Stirling – but those rumors were denied by an ITV spokesperson.

The spokesperson said: “Laura has done a fantastic job leading the show this year.”
