Normally on a Sunday afternoon, I’m in my old jogging bottoms and T-shirt, walking my dog Angus and catching up on chores before doing my homework for Monday’s show. This Sunday couldn’t have been more different!

I found myself on a star-studded red carpet in central London to present two prestigious BAFTA awards.
My fabulous hair and makeup artist Helen Hand worked her usual magic and stylist Bronagh Webster found me the perfect high street outfit, a summery, flattering dress from Phase Eight.

What was even better is that I’m back in a size 10 (which is when I’m happiest and fittest) after following the WW plan since January.

To be completely honest, I don’t think I would have had the confidence to attend an awards show like the BAFTAS earlier this year. I had been comfortable eating throughout the Covid shutdowns and felt tired, bloated and a little weak.

So it was joyful to be out in the afternoon sun reuniting with old friends and seeing people I look up to like Stephen Graham and Suranne Jones. I told Suranne that the only downside of being at the BAFTAS was missing out on her amazing performance in Mr Jack tonight.
The first person I met was Ncuti Gatwa who had just been announced as the new Dr Who. I loved his outfit and he will bring something special to this iconic role.
Posing with the beautiful Alison Hammond
Kate Piper looked amazing in a beautiful Hollywood glam pink dress and I loved Susanna Reid’s effortlessly elegant tuxedo jumpsuit and my fabulous friend Alison Hammond has never looked better.
Backstage I was standing in line with Helen George who plays Trixie in Call the midwife and comedian Lee Mack while waiting to present the (very heavy) BAFTA awards. I gave the prize to ITN for news coverage, then another for documentary missing children for specialized facts.
Waiting backstage to present the hefty BAFTA awards
As usual I was Cinderella and couldn’t attend the after-party as I had to leave early to do my homework for my morning TV show, but it was fabulous to have a Sunday glamorous for a change.
