Tom Holland proved his boxing skills up to par recently with a session with superfit trainer and personal trainer Louis Chandler.
The Los Angeles-based Briton, who rose to fame as a child actor before landing the role of Spiderman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe [MCU], looked far from an amateur as he sweated.
Holland was put to the test by Chandler [IG:@louischandler] at the thriving DogPound Gym. Founded by Kirk Myers in 2016, The DogPound became the place of training after expanding to two locations in Los Angeles and New York.
The 25-year-old moved around and looked natural between the ropes. Holland turned to the sport as he prepared for the roles to come over the summer.
Currently enjoying a streak of success, Holland starred alongside Robert Pattinson in ‘The Devil All The Time’ in 2020. The Londoner followed that up with another box office success in 2021.
The sci-fi adventure film “Chaos Walking” – released last year during the pandemic – was just the major flop in Holland’s career. Part of this loss of $ 75 million can be attributed to how the coronavirus outbreak has hit movie theaters badly.
Dusting himself off, he quickly moves on with “Cherry”. Breaking from its usual upbeat portrayal of Spiderman, this psychological thriller boasted of a critically acclaimed performance from the young icon.
TOM HOLLAND – SPIDERMAN
The next step for Holland is a return to the role that saw him break down Hollywood barriers as Peter Parker.
The new installment of Spiderman, now under the direction of Sony, is called; “Spiderman: No way home.”
Holland is once again playing alongside his girlfriend Zendaya. The couple teamed up for the third time, after “Homecoming” and “Far from Home”.
The trailer for “No Way Home” sees the return of Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus after seventeen years of absence.
Molina played the original character in “Spiderman 2” when Tobey Maguire ran the franchise.
The film will surely be another winner for Holland, who has already filmed his next project, “Unchartered” – currently in post-production for 2022.
With boxing skills to match his acting abilities, the sky is the limit for the Avengers star.
