A 2.5 km Chicago New Years Eve fireworks display will explode along Lake Michigan and the Chicago River at midnight, marking the entrance to the city in 2022 with its largest fireworks display never seen.

The show will be choreographed to a “special soundtrack” and will be synchronized at eight separate launch sites along the Chicago River, in Lake Michigan and near Navy Pier.
City officials say that although the historic exhibit comes at a time when COVID cases are on the rise, they are encouraging residents to celebrate the holidays safely.
