Armed Services YMCA to Host Vintage Car Show Fundraiser

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Fort Campbell Armed Services YMCA is considering a classic car show later this month in an attempt to meet its annual fundraising goal.

The ASYMCA supports junior enlisted servicemen – E5 and below – by providing programs for soldiers and their families. They seek to improve their mind, spirit and body with programs relevant to military life.

It will be the first auto show ever organized by the organization as it aims to hit the $ 50,000 mark.

“Often, we focus on the military child who feels the impact of military life greatly due to deployed parents, distance from family and friends, and the hardships associated with moving to new places of duty,” said Lindsey White, executive director of ASYMCA. , in a press release. “Another specific impact on young enlisted soldiers and their families is access to quality early education at affordable costs.

“Through donations, grants and sponsorships, we are able to help fill this education gap with kindergarten and kindergarten classes as well as elementary STEM-focused classes. … Again, we are able to do these things and support those who support our lives and freedoms through the generosity of our community and its partners.

The organization is currently in need of classic cars, volunteers and salespeople. The show will take place on July 25 at the Valor Hall Conference and Event Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
